Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.                                                               James 1:27

About Us

White Fields World Ministries, Inc. is a faith-driven organization committed to sharing the Gospel and strengthening Christian

communities throughout India and other unreached regions.

Founded in 2002 by Evangelist Mike Pemberton, the ministry began with a vision to equip local leaders and expand the reach of Christ through sustainable, grassroots efforts. Over the years, White Fields has trained hundreds of native preachers, planted churches, and supported the growth of thriving Christian communities across multiple regions including Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chittoor, and Tamil Nadu. Through these efforts, thousands have come to faith and been baptized, and hundreds of churches have been established.

In addition to evangelism and church planting, the ministry is deeply committed to meeting practical needs. Initiatives have included Bible distribution, seminary training, orphanage restoration, and humanitarian outreach such as food relief programs during times of crisis. Also, White Fields equips a medical van that is used to help treat the medical needs of many remote villagers.

Today, White Fields continues to expand its mission by empowering local leaders, supporting rural villages, and providing spiritual guidance. With a legacy of faithful service and a vision for continued growth, the ministry remains dedicated to bringing hope, truth, and transformation to communities in need.

Board Members

Stephen Byrd, President

Stephen lives in Logansport, Indiana. Now 70 years old, Stephen spent 50 years as a dedicated truck driver, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family.

Stephen holds a Diploma of Biblical Studies from Summit Theological Seminary and currently serves as the Board President of White Fields World Ministries (WFWM). In 2013, he had the opportunity to travel to India to witness the impact of WFWM firsthand. During his visit, he toured orphanages, churches established by the ministry, and even preached at gospel meetings in rural areas — a deeply meaningful experience that strengthened his passion for global ministry work.

Stephen’s life reflects a legacy of faith, family, and service.

Jim Lockwood, Treasurer

Jim serves White Fields World Ministries as a Board member and Treasurer of the organization. He and his wife, Kim, who serves as Secretary for the Board, live in Owosso, Michigan. Jim graduated from Great Lakes Christian College, as did Kim, and from Cincinnati Christian Seminary. He is now retired, after a career in banking and finance, but still does pulpit supply on a regular basis and keeps his hand in finances.

Jim counts it a real blessing to have worked closely alongside Bill Brossmann for WFWM, as well as in other Kingdom work, prior to his passing, and is pleased to continue with White Fields in his absence.

Jerry Paul, Board Member

Jerry is a preacher’s kid who was called to his first ministry with a brand-new church just eight weeks after graduating from high school. Upon graduating from Great Lakes Bible College, his ministries continued through 2005 and included starting two more churches and serving as president of Great Lakes Christian College for five years. Jerry worked with one of the new churches for 24+ years, seeing its attendance grow from 60 to 600.

Fill-in preaching and interim ministries have kept him busy for the last 21 years, as well as leading seminars - Personal Development, Prayer; Leadership Training, Conflict Management - and long-term consulting with churches in development programs, staff employment and/or problem resolution. During this time, Jerry also authored a book showing the practical application of the Sermon on the Mount to everyday living - The Path to Productive Christian Living. He has served on WFWM Board for 10+ yrs.

Scott Saltsman, Board Member

Scott grew up in a preacher’s home as the eldest of six children and several foster siblings, shaping his lifelong commitment to faith and service. He and his wife, Mitzi, met at Great Lakes Bible College and were married in June of 1979. Together, they have four children and two granddaughters, with much of their family living in Steuben County, Indiana.

Scott and Mitzi have faithfully served in Christian camping, student ministries, and preaching ministries across Indiana. In 2003, they moved to Fremont to help plant Lake Area Christian Church, where Scott currently serves as the preaching elder. Their ministry has also taken them to countries such as Costa Rica, Haiti, Mexico, Nepal, and India, where they preached, taught, and encouraged local believers.

Scott has also served his community as a firefighter, EMT, and now as chaplain for both the Fremont Fire Department and Fremont Police Department. His life reflects a legacy of faith, family, leadership, and service.

Our Board of Directors serves on a completely voluntary basis and does not receive compensation for their service. Their leadership is driven by a genuine commitment to our mission and a heartfelt desire to serve God's kingdom.
